PRACTICE MANAGER

About the role

Peel Health Care Ltd is seeking an experienced Part-Time Practice Manager to join our team in Tamworth, NSW. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our medical practice, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage and supervise the administrative staff, ensuring they are trained, motivated and performing to a high standard
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to improve practice efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Oversee the practice’s financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • Handle HR responsibilities such as recruitment, performance management and payroll
  • Liaise with medical staff, patients and external stakeholders to address any issues or concerns
  • Ensure the practice complies with all relevant healthcare regulations and industry standards
  • Identify opportunities for growth and implement strategies to expand the practice’s services and patient base

Selection Criteria (What we’re looking for)

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical practice management or similar healthcare administration role
  • Certificate or Diploma level qualification in practice management, business administration or a related field, or a willingness to obtain
  • Strong knowledge of medical practice operations, including Medicare, financial management, HR, compliance and patient services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with medical staff, patients and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a solutions-focused approach
  • Proficiency in using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to prioritise and organise, with attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience using Best Practice clinical software and Xero accounting software
  • Detailed understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule
  • Understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards
